Dear Participants and Guests,

On behalf of the Baku City Executive Authority, I extend my congratulations on the opening of the 29th Azerbaijan International Construction Exhibition "BakuBuild," the 4th Azerbaijan International Exhibition on the Restoration, Reconstruction, and Development of Karabakh "Rebuild Karabakh," the 16th International Exhibition on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Water Supply, Sanitary Engineering, and Swimming Pools "Aquatherm Baku," and the 12th Caspian International Exhibition on Road Infrastructure and Public Transport "Road & Traffic" 2024.

Today, Baku has undergone significant transformations and is recognized as a creative and modern city. In recent years, under the successful leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Baku has experienced tremendous and multifaceted development, with the pace of this growth rapidly increasing.

During the Soviet era, many residential buildings were constructed in Baku; however, most of these structures have now reached the end of their service life. As a result, old buildings are being demolished, and modern residential complexes and parks are being created in their place. Baku is now one of the rare cities in the world where parks are built on the sites of outdated residential complexes, providing residents with enjoyable and memorable leisure spaces.

Baku's climate is complex and semi-desert, presenting certain challenges for the city's development. Nevertheless, Baku has transformed into a city of parks. Over the past 20 years, nearly 400 new parks have been established or thoroughly renovated in the capital. Numerous green areas have been created, and hundreds of thousands of trees have been planted, along with the construction of more than 200 well-maintained neighborhoods and inter-neighborhood parks.

I would also like to draw your attention to another point: today, Baku is one of the safest cities in the world. Thanks to the policies of President Ilham Aliyev, Baku has become a venue for numerous international events, sports competitions, conferences, and forums. This year, Baku will host several international events, including the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). These events demonstrate that Baku has become one of the main business and cultural centers on the international stage and further highlight our country’s commitment to environmental and sustainable development issues.

I believe that events like “BakuBuild” will stimulate the generation of new ideas and perspectives regarding the future development of cities. The "BakuBuild" exhibition brings together leading industry representatives, architects, designers, and specialists, creating unique opportunities for the exchange of experiences, showcasing advanced technologies, and establishing new business connections. We are pleased to host these exhibitions, which support the progress and sustainable development of our city.

I wish you productive work, successful cooperation, and the realization of new projects!

On behalf of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (KOBIA), I welcome each of you to the 4th Azerbaijan International Exhibition for the Restoration, Reconstruction, and Development of Karabakh - Rebuild Karabakh and the 29th Azerbaijan International Construction - BakuBuild Exhibitions.

With each passing year, the importance of the “Rebuild Karabakh” exhibition, which aims to showcase the restoration, reconstruction, and development processes underway in the region following the liberation of Karabakh from occupation, and to contribute to the establishment of fruitful business relations in this direction, continues to grow. The exhibition provides a comprehensive opportunity to gain insights into the reintegration of the liberated territories into the national economy and the cooperation between the public and private sectors in this area. The inquiries received by SMBDA from local and foreign entrepreneurs indicate significant interest in participating in the restoration and construction activities, business operations, and investments in Karabakh. Naturally, the various incentives and concessions applied in the liberated territories play a substantial role in this. In this regard, the “Rebuild Karabakh” exhibition also serves as a platform to showcase Karabakh's potential and the concessions applied in the area, thus encouraging new investments and the creation of businesses by drawing the attention of investors, experts, and entrepreneurs.

In turn, the “BakuBuild” exhibition, which is one of the largest events in Azerbaijan and the Caucasus in the field of construction, continues its mission as a successful platform for showcasing innovations in construction, design, and architecture.

Particularly noteworthy is the increased focus on energy-saving and recycling innovations at this year’s exhibitions, as Azerbaijan has declared 2024 the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World” and is preparing to host prestigious events like COP29. We believe that the innovative solutions presented by local entrepreneurs and startups at these exhibitions, along with the products and services that contribute to the "green economy," will be beneficial for entering international markets, establishing partnerships with foreign counterparts, and exchanging experiences.

I hope that such events will contribute to the development of Karabakh and the establishment of new collaborations, and we wish the exhibitions great success!

On behalf of the Azerbaijan Construction Manufacturers Association, I would like to extend my warm greetings to you at the 4th Azerbaijan International Restoration, Reconstruction and Development of Karabakh and the 29th Azerbaijan International Construction Exhibitions.

As you know, one of the key sectors reflecting the economic status and potential of any country is the construction sector. If this sector is thriving, it indicates that the country is experiencing economic growth. The Head of State’s instructions and recommendations for carrying out construction and development work with taste and in line with modern standards place a great responsibility on economic entities. As a result, the recent urban improvement, construction, and reconstruction works being carried out across the country are not only pleasing to the eye but also bring additional beauty to the appearance of our cities, towns, and villages.

It is well known that the reconstruction and revitalization of our liberated territories, and the creation of comfortable living conditions for our citizens – including the establishment of infrastructure – is a long-term and extensive process. Our participation in these processes as representatives of the construction sector and the implementation of visually appealing projects in these enchanting lands not only strengthens the Construction Manufacturers Association but also clearly expresses our solidarity with the country’s development and the policies of our esteemed President.

The primary goal of the Azerbaijan Construction Manufacturers Association (ATIA) is to actively support the development of construction companies operating in the Republic of Azerbaijan, particularly those that are members of the Association. Our efforts aim to contribute to the development of the construction sector, establish and systematize unified standards, coordinate the activities of construction companies within the public-private sector tandem, represent and protect their shared interests, create a unified platform for construction companies, and promote effective collaboration between them. Additionally, the Association seeks to improve the quality of construction products and services, assist its members in accessing international construction markets, and actively participate in the organisation of national construction exhibitions.

As demonstrated by the goals and objectives of the Association, our core mission is to become the voice and closest partner of entrepreneurs engaged in construction activities in Azerbaijan, foster dialogue between entrepreneurs and the state to regulate relations in this field and support the sustainable development of the construction sector in the country.

We firmly believe that both exhibitions will pave the way for new and productive business relationships and will further promote the development of the construction sector through advanced technologies and innovative solutions.

On behalf of the organisers, I warmly welcome you to the largest construction event in the Caspian region, the "Caspian Construction Week."

This major event unites three significant exhibitions under one umbrella: the 4th Azerbaijan International Exhibition for the Restoration, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction of Karabakh, "Rebuild Karabakh"; the 29th Azerbaijan International Construction Exhibition, "BakuBuild"; and the 16th International Exhibition for Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Water Supply, Sanitary Ware, and Swimming Pool Equipment, "Aquatherm Baku."

This year, the Caspian Construction Week proudly hosts more than 350 companies from 22 countries. Germany, Hungary, and Uzbekistan represented by national pavilions. Compared to previous years, we are pleased to welcome the active participation of companies from Turkey, Russia, and China this year. We are also pleased to welcome new companies, which account for 12% of the total number of participants. In recent years, Azerbaijan's construction industry has been developing dynamically, driven by large-scale projects to revive the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions. I am delighted that "Rebuild Karabakh," a unique and specialized exhibition dedicated to the restoration of Karabakh, contributes positively to this process, creating new business opportunities in ecology, energy, construction, transportation, and infrastructure.

Over the past four years, "Rebuild Karabakh" has become a landmark event in Azerbaijan's exhibition industry, further underscored by a welcome letter from His Excellency President Ilham Aliyev. I extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr President for his special attention and support for the exhibition. Some of our longest-running exhibitions, "BakuBuild" and "Aquatherm Baku," have become traditional meeting places for the building community, where local manufacturers and foreign exhibitors can share best practices, present practical solutions, and introduce new technologies that exemplify the successful application of scientific and technological advances in the construction industry. I am confident that these exhibitions and their rich business programs will contribute to the further growth of Azerbaijan's building materials market, as well as the heating and ventilation sectors. Compared to previous years, we are pleased to welcome the active participation of companies from Turkey, Russia, and China this year.

This year, Azerbaijan will host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). We are confident that these international exhibitions will contribute to preparations for this large-scale event, reaffirming Azerbaijan's position on the world stage. I would like to express my deep gratitude to all government structures and associations for their support, as well as to the sponsors of these exhibitions.
